A Place for Horse-Crazy Kids

Judy Richter, author of Riding for Kids, was going to be the judge at the Cornell horse show last weekend. But because of an emergency, she couldn't make it.  I was going to have her sign her book for me!
My mom went to the same school as her, Smith College. When my mom was in college and on the riding team, Judy Richter gave a clinic there! She's really good.  I hope I meet her some day.
When I see Beezie Madden at the Syracuse International Horse Show, she's a really nice person to meet and you would love to meet her.  At that show, I met Aaron Vale, Richard Spooner, Lauren Hough, Georgina Bloomberg, Leslie Howard, and Margie Engle.
I also met John Madden, Beezie's husband.  He's very nice.

At a show in Lake Placid, I also met John's brother, Frank Madden.  Frank Madden trained Brianne Goutal who is on the TV show HorsePower.  HorsePower isn't on anymore, and I don't know why. It was a great show.  You can buy the DVD at the Syracuse International Horse Show.
When I met Frank, I went up to him and said, "Hi Frank. I'm a kid who would really like to ride at your barn someday and Brianne is my riding hero. I saw your barn on HorsePower and it's really beautiful. I would really like to ride at your barn someday." Frank gave me a high-five and said "Email me!"  He was really nice.

I got to meet Denny Emerson, the famous three-day eventer, at the Equine Affaire in Massachusetts in 2006.  I was watching his clinic, and he said "I need a judge...someone like 6 or 7 or 8".  I raised my hand and he saw me.  He said "Why don't you go ahead and come down here?"  A nice girl picked me up over the fence and I got to stand with him in the middle of the ring and watch all the riders in the clinic.  He was so nice he even sent me a Christmas postcard!
I once got to meet George Morris!  He's like the king of riding!  I got to see him ride too at the Equine Affaire.  I still can't believe I got to meet him and see him ride.  Wow, he's such a good rider.  I hope one day I'm good enough to ride with him.
